Broomhill V Dromore

Landslide victory for Broomhill

By William Newell

Broomhill 8, Dromore Armatures 0

Broomhill were richly rewarded when one of their best performances of the year saw a landslide victory awarded in their favour.

They dominated from start to finish in a game where everything went right for them and the visiting Dromore Armatures were simply unable to get into the net at all.

The 8-goal feast began when Stephen McKendry collected from a goalmouth scramble to poke home. They doubled the lead when the same player put through a cross for David Taylor to head into the net.

By this stage it was all one-way traffic although credit to the Dromore goalkeeper who had pulled off at least 4 or 5 terrific saves from Johnny Forde and Ian Mulholland.

Gary Mulholland was next to add his name to the score sheet when he picked up a pass from brother Ian, and with a diving header he brought Broomhill into the interval on a 3 nil advantage.

There was no let up throughout the second half and Ryan Harper blasted goal number 4 over the head of the goalkeeper. David Taylor then made it 5 nil with a ball he had taken up from mid-field and shortly afterwards Paul Lynas converted a free kick to give the home side a 6 goal lead.

David Taylor headed home his hat-trick before an OG summed up Dromore’s game. It was a good day for the unstoppable Broomhill with the convincing victory well deserved, their best players being Ryan Harper, Gary Mulholland and David Taylor.
